Čović announced that Matviyenko will visit BiH again

MOSCOW, (Patria) - Chairman of the House of Peoples of the BiH PA Dragan Čović met with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, at whose invitation he is visiting the Russian Federation on an official visit.

"The meeting was mutually assessed as very useful for improving bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation, especially at the level of the upper houses which have a pronounced role in strengthening democracy and preserving societal values," according to a statement from the Office of the Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Dragan Čović.

The House of Peoples of the BiH PA will host the annual conference of presidents of senates in May 2020, where they will present and discuss the significance and role of the upper houses of parliaments in multinational states.

"Matviyenko once again thanked Chairman Čović for the invitation to the conference, as a new opportunity for exchanging experiences and opinions at the highest parliamentary level and in a multilateral format," the statement said.

Before the meeting, Čović paid tribute and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
