Čović commented on Kovačević's candidacy: We heard good comments even from Bosniak media!

(Patrai) - HDZ BIH President Dragan Čović commented today in Mostar on Slaven Kovačević's candidacy for the BiH Presidency member from the Croat people.

"It was a weekend candidacy of a new Presidency member, or if you will, a Croat member of the Presidency. I think no better decision could have been made, so that even those fake citizens, fake patriots of BiH, fake this or that, have come to light. Especially when the European Court of Human Rights defined that person, when it rejected it 16:1, that today they want to run again for the Croat member of the Presidency adds another point to what we claim, that peoples must be represented exclusively by legitimate representatives," Čović said and added:

"We heard good comments even from Bosniak media who said what kind of abuse this person or the party that proposed them is doing. This is an incentive for everyone to understand that enough deception has occurred, we will strive to get a new Election Law. Legitimate representatives of the people will have to sit down and negotiate".

He said that it is not taboo to talk about the reorganisation of BiH.

"A unitary state will never be here, nor can a civic state function, as this weekend candidacy has shown. The time has come to sit down again. We must decide our own destiny, it has nothing to do with the third entity, it can be the first entity. This must be with the help of those who created Dayton, and in agreement of the three peoples," Čović said, reports Politički.ba.

Let us remind you, the Presidency of the Democratic Front made a unanimous decision on Kovačević's candidacy.

“I am a Croat, is that a problem for someone? A Croat, I was, I am, and I will remain. I did not want to get into that mud that ethno-nationalists were pushing. I have participated in elections several times and each time I said that I am a Croat and I have never changed that. Some from HDZ have, Mr. Dragan Čović signed in Cyrillic and declared himself a Yugoslav,” Kovačević said for the show Istraga sedmice.
