Čović negotiates only when losing the battle

Dragan Čović believes that the revision of Bosnia and Herzegovina's verdict against Serbia for genocide at the International Court of Justice in The Hague is a wrong political move by Bakir Izetbegović. The revision has set back the already shaky relations among political parties in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Čović says that all three members of the Presidency of BiH should have decided on this issue, not just Izetbegović. For him, the issue of revising the verdict is not just a legal, but also a political issue! And Bosnia and Herzegovina must speak with one voice. Any other form of communication is a disgrace to the international community.

One could say that Čović's political stances are neither here nor there, and he behaves as if he is on a seesaw. When it was finally announced what had arrived from The Hague, he stated that he would not comment on the credibility of agent Sakib Softić. It turns out he is neither for nor against initiating the verdict. He cannot be completely open due to the pressure from his own public, from the families of Croatian victims, and even from the Catholic Church.

It is interesting that Čović, along with Ivanić and other politicians from RS, is now demanding that Bosnia and Herzegovina speak with one voice before international institutions. Why does he want one voice? Political metaphors reveal a person who wants the choir members to sing their own songs while the audience enjoys a unique chaos.

At the end of January, Čović's voice spoke alone on behalf of Bosnia and Herzegovina before the European Parliament, when the Resolution on Bosnia and Herzegovina was passed with an amendment on federalization. At that time, he did not seek consensus from the other two members of the Presidency of BiH. Željana Zovko, former ambassador of BiH and Čović's appointee, moved to the Croatian Republic's camp in the European Parliament and fought fiercely for Brussels to approve the federalization of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Better to say, the establishment of a third entity with an ethnically pure Croatian nation. Such a policy was certainly not practiced in Brussels, but in western Mostar, on behalf of HDZ's policy.

It can be said that the policy of the HDZ and HNS president is based on the matrix: "What is mine is only mine, what is yours is both mine and yours."

If someone opposes such a policy, Čović skillfully hides behind the Croatian people. For every sin of Čović, the story of the endangerment of the Croatian people is presented as a defense. The Croatian people are indeed endangered, as are the other two peoples in BiH. But the people did not endanger themselves. How much is Čović responsible for the endangerment of Croats? The people do not lead themselves. The Croatian people are led by Čović and HDZ. Who is endangering the Croatian people in ethnically pure territory?

Despite all the endangerment, the goals are being achieved: conquering territories and cities, one nation, one party, one leader... And all this to speak with one voice.
