Čović from the top of his head and heart: Speaking openly about the division of BiH without a written speech, Izetbegović didn't understand it that way!

A precedent occurred at the reception in the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of Independence Day, orchestrated by the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Dragan Čović, writes the news agency Patria.

Namely, the practice so far has been that the hosts always had a prepared text of their address in advance, primarily so that guests from the diplomatic corps and ambassadors could receive a translation, but last night they were deprived of a translation and could not know what Čović said in his address to those present.

Some well-informed representatives of political life immediately suspected that it was a kind of trick, because the speech from the top of his head and heart, as Čović announced it, contained messages that were not supposed to be written down, but were spoken.

Thus, Čović openly spoke about divisions, while calmly and from the heart telling those present that there should be nothing controversial about it.

- I don't see any reason why anyone would consider dividing the country if we are to ensure information in the language of the constituent people, I don't see why it would be a problem to divide if someone asks to elect their representative on behalf of their people, so that others don't elect him. And that is why I am convinced that we will have the wisdom, courage, determination, patriotism, and love for the homeland to very quickly adopt our Election Law in order to resolve the issue of the judgment in Strasbourg and the issue of the judgment of our Constitutional Court for Mostar and many other issues that would place us among slightly more organized countries – said Čović.

Most of those present were bothered by this part of the speech, and journalists also sought comments from Bakir Izetbegović, a member of the Presidency of BiH and also one of the hosts of the reception on the occasion of March 1st.

- I think Čović was talking about not choosing representatives for each other, primarily referring to "Sejdić-Finci" and through that possibly resolving the Croatian issue, i.e., the problem of electing a member of the Presidency, and from that perspective, I think we will succeed in finding a solution based on what was once proposed by Füle, on their model. As for the three channels, there are enough divisions in this country, everyone can speak Croatian, Bosnian, or Serbian, so no one forbids them from making any contribution they want in that language, and that is definitely the case. There is no control or censorship in state media, everyone can speak their language, and I don't see where the problem is. I don't see the readiness, primarily within SDA, to move towards division into three channels – stated Izetbegović. (acz)
