Čović and Radončić in Mostar: Will SBB accept HDZ's invitation to join the government?

In the Romanca restaurant in Mostar today, as announced by HDZ BiH, the party's president and Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, will meet with the president of the Alliance for a Better Future of BiH, Fahrudin Radončić, reports the Patria News Agency.

After the meeting at 15:00, the leaders will make statements to the media.  

It is known that Čović has been advocating for SBB to join the government for a long time, since the withdrawal of DF, and that he holds regular meetings with Radončić.

- I am an advocate that one of the parties that should certainly be in power is SBB, because they have results, but we need to agree together and we need to see if these people want to enter the government in the current constellation of relations. But in any case, this agony must be stopped, said Čović.

On the other hand, Radončić opposes entering a coalition with SDA.

In an interview he gave to Press a few days ago, he said that the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a hostage of the "SDA's deception" that it is the absolute, not the relative, winner of the elections. Radončić calls the coalition of SDA with the Democratic Front a failed experiment.

- Now they are forming a coalition with small parties, but if one of their MPs goes to the toilet, they don't have a majority. Other parties, SDP, DF, and even SBB, do not show much interest in cooperating with an insincere partner like SDA. Now in FBiH, SBB can be the deciding factor in power, or we can remain leaders of the opposition.

We can form a very powerful coalition with DF, SDP, and a dissident wing of SDA, and remove the radicals. We can form a grand coalition with SDA and HDZ. The fourth option is that DF, in its usual style, changes its mind and returns sheepishly - says Radončić, who, when asked what SBB will do now, answers:

- I don't want to think about that now, at least not before September. SBB is not burdened by entering the government. We will wait a few more months, and then we will possibly start thinking about what the concept for exiting the crisis is. Let SDA continue to show its powerlessness, ignorance, and lack of leadership for some time.
