Čović and Cormack Discuss Election Law Amendments, Political Dialogue Needed

Member of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović held a meeting with the U.S. Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack. During the meeting, they discussed the current situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Euro-Atlantic processes, and the reform of electoral legislation.

In further discussion, Čović informed the ambassador about activities within the reform of the Election Law. He assessed it as necessary to overcome existing differences in negotiations in order to reach comprehensive and inclusive solutions that satisfy the principles of the European Court of Human Rights rulings, and consistently implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH regarding the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, the Presidency of BiH, and the City of Mostar.

The ambassador expressed full support of the U.S. for key reform processes, as well as support for strengthening internal political dialogue in the country.

At the end of the meeting, Čović thanked the ambassador for the sincere support that the U.S. provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its Euro-Atlantic path.
