Čović: Agreement between SDA and SBB does not bother either of the other two peoples

Dragan Čović, president of the HDZ BiH, told journalists after a meeting with Bakir Izetbegović and Denis Zvizdić that, in addition to discussions about the budget and the coordination mechanism, they also talked about what the SDA and SBB have agreed so far, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- I hope that these negotiations will intensify over the weekend and that we will get a new stable majority, and I believe that this could happen in November when we would have established government at all levels. Of course, the cantonal levels are a story in themselves, and we already have a case where the SBB supported the government in two cantons – said Čović.

He noted that he will discuss any potential talks about the reconstruction of the Council of Ministers after the SDA and SBB agree on all details.

Regarding the statement by Patria journalist that Mladen Bosić, president of the SDS, said that the SBB is not a desirable partner for the SDS in the BiH Council of Ministers, Čović said the following:

- At this moment, it really doesn't matter who likes whom or who loves whom. I didn't like some things either, but I agreed to them, but rest assured that neither of the other two peoples will have anything against the agreement between the SDA and the SBB. So I hope, as I said, that we will all be able to talk about new majorities together, which certainly will not exclude the Council of Ministers. Mr. Radončić has not so far spoken about any personal or individual interests in participating in government, but the discussions have been moving in the direction of how BiH can move faster and stronger towards the EU – emphasized Čović.

He said that at this moment he cannot give an assessment of the state of the country a year after the elections because every citizen can see what it is like now. However, Čović is convinced that the situation will be much better in 15 days.
