Čović fails to congratulate Independence Day of his own homeland, Mayor Kordić on the significance of the '92 referendum

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Bosnia and Herzegovina marks 30 years of independence today, and some officials for whom this same BiH enables a comfortable life with high salaries have not deigned to even congratulate the holiday. One of them is the president of the Croatian Democratic Union of BiH, Dragan Čović, who "beats his chest" about how much he led the homeland of BiH. His last post on Twitter is from February 24, when he commented on the "war in Ukraine" without condemning or mentioning Russia or the aggression they committed.

However, on the other hand, the Mayor of Mostar, Mario Kordić, sent a congratulatory message on his official Facebook page as early as Monday.

"On the day of February 29 (the last day of February) 1992, the holding of the Referendum for the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina began and lasted until March 1. Thanks to the firm commitment to independence by Croats and Bosniaks, the referendum succeeded and today we have the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I firmly believe that the memory of this date will be an incentive for us in creating conditions for a better future for all who live in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Only true equality of all three constituent peoples and all citizens guarantees a stable and prosperous future, which we all want. Happy Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Kordić stated.

Although there were malicious comments and those who did not like this congratulatory message, Kordić only did what he is obliged to do as an elected official and as someone who considers BiH his homeland.
