Ćosić announced: Enhanced security measures in Sarajevo for New Year's Eve

Today, a gathering with media representatives who followed the work of the Ministry during the year was held at the premises of the Special Support Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, reports the Patria news agency.

The New Year's gathering was organized by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Ismir Jusko, and Police Commissioner Vahid Ćosić. In their addresses to the present journalists and guests, Minister Jusko and Commissioner Ćosić briefly reflected on the events of the past year and provided a short recap of the work results of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, with a look at the plans for the upcoming year.

During the event, a joint assessment was made that the results achieved this year are very good, especially considering the complex security situation in the Canton, both in light of daily events and challenges in the area of crime, and in the context of overall developments in the region and the world, which present a serious task for all employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton in protecting the personal and property security of all citizens of the Canton.

- Every month we conduct a security assessment, and in October we implemented a set of enhanced security measures. We cannot completely eliminate security challenges, but we are focused on the fight against terrorism. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton has no operational intelligence data indicating a deterioration of the security situation. We have been working for a long time on organizing enhanced security measures at the venue for the public New Year's Eve celebration and in the Sarajevo Canton, said Ćosić.

It was also emphasized that cooperation with media representatives, as well as their professional approach in terms of accurate and timely informing the public about events concerning the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is of great importance for the successful work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, and was assessed as very correct and mutually beneficial.
