Cormack with Džaferović on BiH political blockade

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović will today receive the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States of America Maureen Cormack. She is the former US Ambassador to BiH, and after returning to the US, she remained involved in the processes in BiH.

Given that the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Željko Komšić is on an official visit to Canada, Džaferović will speak with Cormack alone. This visit comes at a time when SNSD, led by Milorad Dodik, is blocking the work of state institutions, as well as the Presidency of BiH, by not adopting important decisions and agreements.

The US Ambassador Eric Nelson, along with other ambassadors of the Quint (Germany, Italy, Great Britain, France), has already spoken with Dodik, and whether any more decisive steps will be taken will be known in the coming period.

In addition to blocking state institutions, Dodik's SNSD, together with HDZ BiH, has submitted a Law on the Method of Election of Judges of the Constitutional Court of BiH to the parliamentary procedure, demanding that the three foreign judges be replaced by domestic judges. Warnings from the international community, as well as the PIC, were not enough of a deterrent for Dodik to stop. There are indications that the EU will also impose sanctions on him, and he has been on the US blacklist for some time.
