Cormack: BiH is at a crucial moment, this year must be a turning point

United States Ambassador Maureen Cormack told guests at a welcome reception that she has gained wonderful first impressions of BiH and is grateful to everyone for their kind hospitality and good wishes, the US Embassy announced, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- Newly elected leaders understand that the country is at a crucial moment, the European Union has offered it a unique chance that it must seize. In a country where the economy has too often benefited only politicians, it is time for politicians to create a healthy business climate. A healthy business climate that will ensure jobs for the next generation. We want to identify areas where US policies and programs can contribute to progress on the path to strengthening the rule of law – said Cormack.

Ambassador Cormack also said it was an honor to have the opportunity to work with all of you.

- To turn the twentieth year after the establishment of peace in BiH into a turning point – from survival to progress, from tolerance to genuine acceptance, from peace to real prosperity. Thank you for being with us tonight – said Cormack.

The reception was attended by members of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegović, Mladen Ivanić, president of HDZ 1990 Martin Raguž, Mladen Bosić president of SDS, as well as other guests from public and political life of BiH.
