Čongradin: Those who love Milošević will vote for death and hunger

BELGRADE, (Patria) - Journalist and columnist for the Belgrade daily Danas Snežana Čongradin reacted fiercely to the statements of Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dačić, who once again praised the former Serbian dictator Slobodan Milošević.

- When Ivica Dačić says that those who loved Slobodan Milošević, the greatest political criminal in recent world history, should vote for the Socialist Party of Serbia in the Belgrade elections, the question arises whether the leader of the Socialists is mad or just incredibly corrupt and insolent – Čongradin believes.

Čongradin wonders how it is possible that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Ana Brnabić tolerate Dačić's praise for Slobodan Milošević.

- Also, the question arises whether the President of the state and the President of the Government, who keep Dačić as the head of diplomacy with such views and expressions of respect for a dictator responsible for the greatest impoverishment and the most heinous crimes on European soil since World War II, are mad or, also, just incredibly irresponsible, insolent, and corrupt.

At the same time, the question arises how abnormal the media and the entire public in Serbia are when they consider such statements by the SPS leader and the Minister of Foreign Affairs as usual characteristics of an election campaign and something that should not be particularly agitated about or paid attention to.

War, hunger, murders, genocide, ethnic cleansing, political assassinations, and then several crippled generations as a consequence of all that, being used in the most normal and completely carefree way as trump cards in an election campaign, in 2018, speaks of the violence that the current rulers, opposition representatives, public figures, and all those who have the mission of caring for ordinary people, citizens of this country, are ready to carry out for personal gain, or due to complete ignorance, insensitivity, and inadequacy for the job they are doing.

It is such a situation that anyone even remotely normal and adhering to common sense would wish to flee headlong, to relocate and isolate themselves, to leave their own country forever. Or, on the other hand, to continue to stand alone in wonder, frightened, disturbed, frozen by the amount of brutality, primitivism, and the ease with which others cope with the death and hunger of their closest and dearest, remaining silent and not reacting to the invocation of that time when death and hunger were precisely the most dominant characteristics of the state of society.

There is no hatred towards others whose foundations are not in hatred towards oneself and one's own. And that is precisely the reflection and mirror of our society, as the political and media elites have successfully imposed on ordinary people for almost thirty years since the beginning of the wars and the collapse of the state and nation under the leadership of Slobodan Milošević, or Dačić's Sloba – concludes Snežana Čongradin.
