Čolpa: Why are the SNSD, SDA, DF, and HDZ authorities covering up information about the radiation incident at Stup?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - I call on the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, to provide a detailed written response as soon as possible regarding the circumstances that led to the radiation incident at Stup in Sarajevo, from the day the Cesium-137 isotope leak occurred until today, as well as a response regarding the threat to the health of Sarajevo citizens if the air, soil, and water have been contaminated, said the Member of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH, Nihad Čolpa.

"The knowledge that the State Regulatory Agency for Nuclear and Radiation Safety conducted activities, and that lower levels of government did nothing about it, best illustrates the entire disastrous impact of state government actions on the citizens of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The public must know when the radiation incident occurred and why information about the catastrophe at Stup was hidden from the public and other institutions. It is shocking that they marked the site of the radiation incident with yellow tape. They had such an irresponsible attitude in Pripyat after the Chernobyl explosion when they told people there was no danger and even organized a May Day parade, only to evacuate cities afterwards, while the cleanup cost hundreds of millions of dollars," Čolpa wrote on the Facebook network.

The citizens of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, he adds, must have accurate information about the radiation incident at Stup.

"How dangerous is the current contamination for the local population? What is the area of the contaminated space? What has been done about it? In order to improve the sense of security among citizens, it is necessary to urgently provide the public with answers to the questions asked," concluded Čolpa.
