Members of the BiH Presidency held talks with the Foreign Ministers of Italy and Austria

(Patria) - Members of the BiH Presidency today received the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Antonio Tajani, and the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg.

Members of the BiH Presidency expressed satisfaction with the visit of the foreign ministers of two friendly countries, and gratitude to Ministers Tajani and Schallenberg personally, as well as to the governments of Austria and Italy for their continuous support for BiH's integration into the EU.

They especially thanked them for their strong advocacy and mobilization of support from European Union member states for the start of accession negotiations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union.

They informed their interlocutors about a series of activities undertaken to fulfill the conditions for the next step on the European path.

In this context, they emphasized the importance of a positive decision by the Council of the European Union, which would provide an additional impetus to the authorities in BiH, as well as important support for the country's European future, for which there is an absolute consensus.

Ministers Tajani and Schallenberg said that today's visit aims to provide political and all other forms of support to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They welcomed the progress in fulfilling the conditions and reiterated their strong encouragement and support for the European path, which is in mutual interest, both for Bosnia and Herzegovina and for the European Union.

They emphasized their full commitment to preserving the stability and security of BiH through participation in the Althea Mission, providing technical assistance, and advocating for integration into the European Union.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations, and assessed that Austria and Italy are among the largest trade and investment partners in BiH.

They expressed expectations that this cooperation will intensify in the future, as Bosnia and Herzegovina progresses on its path to European Union membership.
