Members of the BiH Presidency Discuss Political Situation in BiH and EU Path with Hahn

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik and members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović received today the Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, and during the talks, the Presidency members said they were satisfied with the intensity of high-level visits by European Union officials, which testifies to the commitment to the European perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Commissioner Hahn welcomed the approval by the BiH Presidency for concluding the Agreement on reducing roaming prices in public mobile communication networks in the Western Balkan region.

On this occasion, he encouraged the members of the BiH Presidency to continue cooperating and working diligently on implementing previously agreed reform processes, the BiH Presidency announced.

The political situation in the country was discussed, with an emphasis on forming authorities at all levels in BiH, which would give additional impetus to the country's European path.

The topic of the meeting was also the submission of the European Commission's Opinion on BiH's readiness to obtain candidate status for EU membership. Commitment and dedication to fulfilling the conditions for forming the Opinion during this mandate of the European Commission were expressed.

The recommendations from the Avis will serve as a roadmap for reform processes in all areas significant for the overall progress and development of the country.

In this context, the members of the BiH Presidency emphasized their commitment to continuing socio-economic reforms, intensifying the fight against corruption, and creating favorable conditions for investments and opening new jobs.

The members of the BiH Presidency expressed hope that, following the submitted Opinion of the European Commission, the member states of the European Union will positively decide on BiH's further path, i.e., grant candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the shortest possible timeframe.
