Members of the BiH Presidency received OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović and members of the BiH Presidency Bakir Izetbegović and Mladen Ivanić informed Secretary General Greminger about the current situation in BiH, and emphasized that our country is committed to becoming a full member of the European Union. They expressed hope that the submission of Bosnia and Herzegovina's responses to the European Commission's Questionnaire for the preparation of the Opinion on Bosnia and Herzegovina's application for membership in the European Union to high officials of the European Union at the end of this month will be an incentive for faster fulfillment of conditions for EU membership.

They also stressed that the European Union enlargement strategy shows that Bosnia and Herzegovina has a European future, with respect for all norms and implementation of necessary reforms. Topics of the meeting also included the issue of amendments to the BiH Election Law and the upcoming general elections. The situation in the media and public services was also discussed.

The members of the BiH Presidency highlighted the significant role of the OSCE in BiH and expressed gratitude for the contribution and assistance to our country, especially in fulfilling its international obligations, as well as in the electoral process, defense and security reform.

Secretary General Greminger welcomed the active role of BiH in the OSCE. He expressed the OSCE's interest in relevant political and socio-economic processes, with a focus on the European integration process and the implementation of the Reform Agenda.

Greminger supported the European path of our country, confirming that the OSCE Mission will remain an important partner in promoting the rule of law, fighting corruption, and implementing reforms in education and the judiciary.
