Central Election Commission members to discuss Milorad Dodik's mandate revocation today

(Patria) - The BiH CEC session is scheduled for today at 10 AM.

On the agenda is an item titled 'Resignations, terminations, and awarding of substitute mandates of the President of Republika Srpska and the Assembly of Zvornik City.

According to the Election Law of BiH, which the Central Election Commission applies, a mandate ceases if the appointed, elected official is sentenced to a prison term of more than six months, which applies to Milorad Dodik, who was sentenced to one year in prison and a six-year ban from public office.

The CEC should officially revoke Dodik's mandate today, and after the BiH Court makes a final decision on the appeal, call for early elections for the President of RS, who is directly elected.

The SNSD has called on all parties from RS to gather and take a common stance that elections will not be held.

For now, only the List for Justice and Order of Nebojša Vukanović has announced participation in the early elections.

The CEC should also take a stance on whether Dodik can remain the president of SNSD.
