Civil Protection calls for readiness due to announced heavy rainfall and possible floods in KS

(Patria) - Given the orange warning from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute due to heavy rainfall, announced for today and tomorrow, the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration has called on all legal and natural persons in the Sarajevo Canton area to take preventive protection measures.

Rainfall between 40 and 70 l/m² is expected, and locally up to 100 l/m² in 24 hours, which can lead to rising water levels, flash floods, and urban floods in the KS area, as warned by the Agency for the Sava River Water Area in the notice on the forecast of extraordinary hydrological conditions.

"In order to protect life, health, and property, we call on you to immediately take all necessary preventive measures in accordance with the Law on Protection and Rescue. Prepare adequate material and technical resources and forces for rapid response.

Timely preparation is key to the efficiency of the protection and rescue system. We especially appeal to the municipal civil protection services of KS to continuously monitor areas threatened by floods and put organized forces on alert as first responders", stated the KUCZ.
