Čivić for NAP: It is not true that I am providing quorum for SNSD in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, opposition's demands are justified

MP of SDS in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Aleksandra Pandurević, criticized today that "SBB is providing quorum for SNSD along with Ahmetović's MP Čivić" in the National Assembly of RS, whose work the opposition has been blocking since yesterday.

The portal Faktor writes that "SBB MP Admir Čavka and new member of the Independent Bloc Nedim Čivić, unlike other Bosniak MPs in the National Assembly of RS and the opposition in that BiH entity, are attending today's session, which has enabled its holding for the majority led by Dodik's SNSD".

MP in the National Assembly of RS Nedim Čivić, in a comment for the Patria agency, denied providing quorum for SNSD at the session of the National Assembly of RS. He said that he is not in the assembly hall at all, and that he could not have decided on the quorum in any way. He also said that it is not true that no Bosniak representatives are in the hall, except, as stated, Čavka and Čivić.

"SDA Vice-President of the National Assembly of RS Senad Bratić is leading the Assembly," said Čivić.

"When I entered the hall, there were 52 MPs. 42 people are needed for a quorum. The assembly majority did not depend on me in any way, nor on the entire club of the Homeland coalition," said Čivić. He added that he did not vote on the agenda.

The opposition in RS yesterday interrupted the session of the National Assembly of RS after the ruling SNSD and its coalition partners withdrew the report "of the Main Service for Public Sector Audit on the consolidated report on budget execution in 2016" from the session's agenda.

SDS MP Vukota Govedarica said that the interruption of the session is a response "to the violence they are enduring in parliament, and that they demand respect for the constitution and laws" and that there will be no parliament until their demands are met.

'There can no longer be a normal course of proceedings, because this parliamentary majority does not think with its own head, but with the head of one man', Govedarica stated in a statement to journalists, adding that the opposition will exhaust all constitutional possibilities to prevent violations of the law.

PDP MP Branislav Borenović also said that it is senseless to participate in the work of a parliament that passes decisions that are not published in the "Official Gazette".

MP Čivić from the Homeland Coalition says that he supports the opposition in RS and that their demands are justified, but that he thinks it is not good to physically block the holding of the session.

"The opposition's demands are justified, but I don't think the method they have chosen is good," said Čivić.
