Čivić negotiates with miners: Assembly of the Independent Union of RMU Zenica begins

Protests by miners at the Zenica mine began on Thursday, a general strike was declared on Saturday, and today at 3:00 PM the Assembly of the Independent Union of RMU Zenica is scheduled, reports a reporter from the Patria news agency. 

Authorities are facing a 48-hour deadline set by the workers, which is why director Esad Čivić held a talk with union representatives this morning, during which they agreed on today's meeting.

The meeting is attended by representatives of the RMU Zenica union, RMU Zenica director Esad Čivić, and the president of the Independent Union of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sinan Husić.

This meeting could bring an end to the general strike or confirm the miners' planned departure tomorrow to the building of Elektroprivreda in Sarajevo.
