Pure Art: 2,500 saplings planted for future generations

(Patria) - As part of the Nestlé initiative "Pure Art", 2,500 new spruce and mountain maple saplings were planted in the Una National Park. The autumn action covered three locations – Gorjevac-Velika poljana, Martin Brod-Lučica, and Ćelije-Široka kosa, with the aim of restoring natural habitats and preserving the biodiversity of this protected area.

150 volunteers participated in the afforestation, including students and teachers from Bihać high schools, members of ecological sections, and employees of the Una National Park.



"With this action, we marked World Habitat Day and directly contributed to the restoration of forest areas. We are particularly pleased with the participation of young people who are developing ecological awareness and responsibility towards nature in this way," stated Admira Alijagić from JP "Una National Park".

Thanks to the Nestlé initiative, the forest fund of Bosnia and Herzegovina has so far been enriched with over 15,000 new saplings. This year's planting is dedicated to students who participated in cleaning digital space, with a message about the importance of reducing digital waste and protecting the environment.

"Every planted sapling is a symbol of our shared desire for a cleaner and healthier future. The 'Pure Art' initiative is part of Nestlé's Net Zero Roadmap, which guides us towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050," said Helena Radić Bosanac, Corporate Affairs Manager for Nestlé for BiH, Croatia, and Slovenia.

The "Pure Art" initiative has been implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the fifth consecutive year as part of Nestlé's global activities in the fight against climate change.
