Cikotić with US Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Paul Ahern

(Patria) - BiH Minister of Security Selmo Cikotić met today in Sarajevo with Acting Assistant Secretary of the US Treasury Paul Ahern, who is visiting the region this week to get acquainted with the threat that organized crime and corruption pose to the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkans.

They discussed how the US can help BiH in the fight against organized crime and in achieving strategic goals in the area of security and integration processes.

During the meeting, views were exchanged on more effective sanctioning of criminal groups and related individuals.

In this regard, attention was also drawn to the sanctions recently imposed by the US Department of the Treasury on certain companies and individuals in the region due to destabilizing and corrupt behavior.
