Cikotić and Nelson discussed security challenges in BiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Ambassador of the United States of America to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Eric Nelson, visited the Ministry of Security of BiH today, where he discussed key security challenges and future cooperation with Minister Selma Cikotić.

The fight against money laundering was particularly emphasized, and the need to align domestic laws with international standards and recommendations of financial institutions was highlighted. It was pointed out that in case of obstruction of the adoption of the new Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorist Activities, BiH could once again be on the list of countries that do not fully cooperate with international financial institutions, which would have significant financial and economic consequences for BiH, the Ministry of Security of BiH announced.

Also, during the meeting, the current political situation in BiH and the possibilities of resolving blockades in the work of state institutions were discussed. The possible consequences of such actions were pointed out, and opinions were exchanged on possible solutions for the newly created situation.
