CEC requested a certified copy of the verdict: Election Law to be applied

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina has requested a certified copy of the final verdict of the Court of BiH in the case against the president of the entity Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

This step is necessary for the CEC to be able to undertake further activities within its jurisdiction, in accordance with the Election Law of BiH.

We remind you that, according to Article 1.10.4 of the Election Law of BiH, the mandate of an elected official of a government body ceases on the day the verdict sentencing them to imprisonment of six months or more becomes final.

This means that Dodik, given the confirmed verdict, would have to immediately resign from the position of president of RS.
