CEC adopted the decision: Local elections to be held on October 6, 111 mayors and 32 city mayors to be elected in BiH

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of BiH has made a decision on the announcement and holding of Local Elections for local authorities.

The elections will be held on Sunday, October 6, and 58 municipal councils, 53 municipal assemblies in RS, 111 municipal mayors in BiH, 21 city councils in FBiH, 10 city assemblies in RS, 32 city mayors in BiH, and the Assembly of Brčko District will be elected.

The CEC also adopted the Instructions on the deadlines and order of electoral activities for the Local Elections 2024.

A cut-off of the central voter register has been made, and 3,406,088 voters have the right to vote.

CEC President Irena Hadžiabdić stated that three more cut-offs of the voter register will be made, and it is possible that this number will change.

The CEC today unanimously adopted the conclusion that CEC members will not accept media appearances, but that the CEC remains open to all media inquiries.

Hadžiabdić stated that according to the amendments to the Election Law of BiH, the CEC must appoint 12,000 presidents and deputy presidents of polling station committees, and implement 4 pilot projects for the introduction of new technologies.
