
(Patria) - The Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH received a request to secure additional funds for the Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH in the amount of 4,173,000 KM, in accordance with the Law on Amendments and Additions to the Election Law of BiH.
On this occasion, a meeting was held today between the Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of BiH, Muhamed Hasanović, and representatives of the CEC of BiH.
The meeting discussed the mentioned request, and the CEC representatives explained in detail the need for additional funds, which the Ministry will carefully analyze and respond within the legally prescribed period, it was announced from the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.
Local elections were called based on the Decision of the High Representative Christian Schmidt of March 26 this year, which enacts the Law on Amendments and Additions to the Election Law of BiH, when three pilot projects using new technologies should be implemented, with the aim of a more transparent election process.
The Ministry notes that funds in the amount of 7,418,000 KM have been approved for the CEC so far.
