CEC Received List of 96 Irregularities Reported During Elections

The 'Pod lupom' Coalition submitted a list of 96 electoral irregularities reported on election day to the Central Election Commission of BiH, which they assessed as violations of the Election Law of BiH, reports the BiH news agency Patria.  

The reported irregularities are the result of observations by Coalition observers at polling stations where they were present, and in local election commissions. In addition to this, the summary of irregularities also includes citizen reports recorded in the database via the website www.podlupom.org and the toll-free number 080 05 05 05. A certain number of citizen reports are anonymous, while a larger number are not, and the Coalition possesses relevant data of the persons who made the reports.

Although the 'Pod lupom' Coalition, as a coalition of civil society organizations, does not have the right to submit formal complaints to the CEC, the overview of irregularities was sent in the form of a notification during this period when recounting votes from polling stations may be ordered if it is determined that the Election Law of BiH has been violated.

The Coalition believes that the overview of these irregularities, given that some were corrected during election day through communication between observers, the Coalition, and election administrations, can serve as a basis for the CEC to evaluate the past elections, the work of certain local election commissions, and other relevant processes.

The Coalition expects the Central Election Commission of BiH to consider the submitted irregularities and to undertake certain activities ex officio to resolve them, if it assesses that they constitute a violation of laws or procedures.

After the CEC's statement, the Coalition will publicly release the final results of the election irregularity reporting process. The final report on the observation of the 2014 general elections in BiH with recommendations for improving electoral legislation will be published by the 'Pod Lupom' Coalition in December of this year, it was announced from the 'Pod lupom' Coalition.
