CEC prepares for local elections while monitoring the pandemic situation

SARAJEVO, (Patria) -  Regarding media inquiries concerning the calling and holding of the 2020 Local Elections, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina informs the public that it is constantly and carefully monitoring the development of the new situation related to the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.

"Within the framework and with respect for the general situation and in accordance with real possibilities, we are conducting all necessary activities within our competence, including the preparation and calling of the 2020 Local Elections. In addition to the deadlines set in the Election Law of BiH, our obligation is to monitor the current social situation and implement the measures of the competent state authorities.

In consultation with all relevant factors, and primarily with the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the Central Election Commission of BiH will make adequate decisions in a timely manner and inform all competent authorities at all levels of government and the public about them," the CEC states.
