CEC approves participation of 34 coalitions for the General Elections in October

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Considering the Report on the verification of coalition applications for participation in the 2018 General Elections, the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session certified 34 coalitions that meet the legally prescribed conditions for certification.

Applications for four coalitions were not certified today. The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in accordance with the law, leaves them a period of two days to remedy the deficiencies in the application (identical name or statement regarding the consolidation of the application or statement regarding the withdrawal of the coalition application).

The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina will publish a list of certified coalitions on the website of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.

We remind that in accordance with Article 4.13 paragraph (2) of the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a coalition has the status of a political party in the electoral process from the day of certification for participation in the elections of the coalition until the day of certification of the election results. A political party, as a member of a coalition, cannot withdraw from a certified coalition until the certification of the election results.

In accordance with the Instruction on the deadlines and sequence of electoral activities for the General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be held on October 7, 2018, the submission of candidate lists begins on June 27 and lasts until July 9, 2018, until 4:00 PM.
