CEC rejects RS: Will not provide voter lists for referendum

A session of the Central Election Commission was held today, which considered the request of the Commission for the Referendum of Republika Srpska, seeking the delivery of excerpts, i.e., voter lists from the CEC, which is actually the last obstacle to holding the referendum.

The Commission's request was rejected as unfounded and inadmissible, N1 reports, as carried by Patria.

As confirmed, four members were against, while three were in favour of providing the lists.

The CEC received the request two weeks ago but did not respond until today, explaining that it was a complex issue and that appropriate preparations needed to be made for the Commission members to make a valid decision.
