(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina at an emergency session rejected Suad Arnautović's proposal to annul the SNSD candidacy for the early elections in the Republic of Srpska.
Arnautović was the only one who voted in favor, claiming that there are "new circumstances from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina" and that the SNSD submitted "false documentation" during the candidacy.
Vanja Bjelica Prutina pointed out that the decision on the certification of the SNSD has already been confirmed before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the CIK has no legal basis to review it.
"The decision of the Appellate Chamber is final and binding," she said.
Ahmed Šantić added that "the legal consequences of the verdict against Milorad Dodik mean that he cannot be the president of the party," but that the registration court in Banja Luka, not the CIK, is responsible for implementing those consequences.
Irena Hadžiabdić refused to support even the inclusion of the item on the agenda, stating that the CIK has no authority to annul the SNSD candidacy.
