CEC continues certification process of candidate lists for elections

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today continued the certification process of candidate lists after the deadline for rectifying deficiencies expired.

We remind that the Central Election Commission of BiH at its session held on July 19 certified 642 candidate lists, while for 166 candidate lists it was determined that they have deficiencies or irregularities, and political entities were given a deadline until July 24, 2018 to rectify those deficiencies and irregularities.

After the rectification of deficiencies or irregularities, today the Central Election Commission of BiH certified 152 candidate lists in full, 10 candidate lists partially, while for 4 candidate lists certification was rejected because they do not meet the conditions for certification.

An appeal against these decisions is allowed to the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH via the Central Election Commission of BiH within two days from the day of receipt of the decision, i.e. until August 4, 2018.

For this reason, due to the receipt of possible appeals, the competent service in the Central Election Commission of BiH will also work on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

The certified regular candidate lists will, after becoming final, i.e. on Monday, August 6, 2018, be published on the website of the Central Election Commission of BiH, and before their publication in official gazettes and public information media, so that all certified political entities and candidates can verify their data for possible typographical and other errors.

In the period from August 3 to August 8, the deadline for submitting compensatory lists is ongoing.
