CEC BiH: Verification process for applications of political entities for participation in the General Elections has begun

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission (CEC) of BiH at today's session began the verification process for applications of political parties and independent candidates for participation in the 2026 General Elections in BiH, scheduled for Sunday, October 4.

The deadline for submitting applications by political parties and independent candidates expired on May 22 at 4:00 p.m.

A total of 81 applications were submitted to the CEC of BiH, including 77 political parties and four independent candidates.

Today, the CEC of BiH fully or partially verified applications of political parties and independent candidates that meet the legally prescribed conditions.

The CEC of BiH will notify certain political entities to remedy identified deficiencies or irregularities within two days of receiving the notification.

After the deadline for remedying deficiencies and the finality of the CEC BiH decisions, the list of verified political parties and independent candidates for participation in the General Elections will be published on the CEC BiH website.

In accordance with the Instruction on deadlines and sequence of electoral activities for the direct elections for the General Elections, the deadline for submitting applications for coalition verification is from June 8 to June 16 until 4:00 p.m.
