(Patria) - CIK BiH fines SNSD 30,000 KM for Dodik's hate speech.
The fine relates to the scandalous speech by SNSD president Milorad Dodik at a pre-election rally of this party in East Sarajevo, when he called Bosniaks "amoebas", "Muslims" describing them as "lying a lot".
CIK initiated proceedings against Dodik ex officio.
Amendments to the Election Law of BiH from July 2022, imposed by High Representative Christian Schmidt, define hate speech as any form of public expression or speech that incites or promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against any person or group of persons, based on race, color, nationality, sex or religion, ethnic origin, or any other personal characteristic or orientation that incites discrimination, hostility, and violence.
Fines depend on the severity of the prohibited acts committed or the frequency of hate speech use.
