CEC BiH and Coalition 'Under the Magnifying Glass' on Elections in BiH and Mostar

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On the occasion of the Local Elections in BiH scheduled for November 15, and in the City of Mostar on December 20, 2020, the Central Election Commission of BiH held a meeting today with representatives of the Coalition 'Under the Magnifying Glass'.

The Coalition 'Under the Magnifying Glass' brings together civil society organizations that, among other things, monitor the election process in BiH in all its phases.

The Coalition 'Under the Magnifying Glass' announced an election observation mission for the 2020 Local Elections in BiH, which includes about 100 long-term observers.

The topics of the meeting were the organizational aspects of the 2020 Local Elections, the accreditation procedures for election observers, and strengthening institutional cooperation with the Central Election Commission of BiH, which, along with potential joint advocacy for certain legal and other improvements in the election process, will be a significant segment of joint future activities.

On behalf of the Coalition 'Under the Magnifying Glass', Vehid Šehić, President of the Strategic Board, Dario Jovanović, Project Manager STEP and Coalition 'Under the Magnifying Glass', Jelena Tanasković Mićanović, Public Policy Coordinator, and Ivica Ćavar, Advocacy Coordinator attended the meeting with the President and members of the Central Election Commission of BiH.
