A session of the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the president of the CEC will be elected, will be held today in Sarajevo.
The term of the current president, Vanja Bjelica Prutina, expires today in the position of president, and it is necessary to elect a new president of the CEC BiH who will take over the function on July 1, it was announced from the Central Election Commission of BiH.
The session is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
In accordance with the provisions of the Election Law of BiH, the president of the CEC BiH is elected from among the members of the Central Election Commission of BiH, and the future president of the CEC BiH will be elected from among the members of the CEC from the Croatian people.
One member of the Central Election Commission of BiH from the ranks of Croats, Bosniaks, and Serbs, as well as a member from the ranks of others, serves as president of the CEC BiH on a rotation principle, once every seven years, for a duration of 21 months.
