CEC: General Elections Not Concluded Without Election of President and Vice-President of FBiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated at yesterday's session that the 2018 General Elections have not been concluded, specifically the indirect elections part concerning the election of the President and Vice-President of FBiH. The procedure for electing the President and Vice-President of FBiH, as stipulated in Chapter 9A of the Election Law of BiH, has not yet commenced.

The Central Election Commission of BiH reminds that Article 2.9, point 6 of the Election Law of BiH stipulates that the Central Election Commission of BiH confirms and certifies candidate lists and candidates for all levels of direct and indirect elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina covered by the Election Law of BiH.

The same article of the law stipulates that the Central Election Commission of BiH determines and confirms the results of all direct and indirect elections, certifies that these elections were conducted in accordance with the law, publishes the results, and issues certificates to persons who have obtained a mandate.

Only after the Parliament of FBiH completes the procedure stipulated in Chapter 9A of the Election Law of BiH and after the Central Election Commission of BiH publishes the election results for the President and Vice-President of FBiH, can it be stated that the 2018 General Elections have been concluded.
