Heating Prices: Toplane Users' Bills Increase by 15%, Sarajevogas Users' Bills Decrease by 12.6%

In order to equalize the long-standing unequal relationship in heating payments between citizens using the services of "Sarajevogas" and those whose heating is provided by KJKP "Toplane", the Government of the Sarajevo Canton today adopted a Decision according to which, from October 1, bills for users of "Toplane" services will be increased by 15%, and at the same time, due to the newly formed gas price set by the Federal Government, heating bills issued by "Sarajevogas" will be reduced by 12.6%, reports the Patria news agency.

In this way, the Government aimed to neutralize the imbalance in heating payments in the Sarajevo Canton, given that citizens who heat with gas, through their individual sets, paid a significantly higher price for this energy source dictated by the global market.

The independent body for the calculation and formation of the price of this energy source, established by the Government to obtain precise parameters in determining the gas price, today presented to the Government a proposal for an increase in the distribution of thermal energy of 23.76%, as a price that would cover all costs of operating the central heating system. The Government opted for a lower percentage increase in the cost of heating, of 15%, and the missing funds will be provided, among other things, through savings in the company "Toplane" itself.

For the most socially vulnerable fellow citizens, special funds will be planned in the budget for the next year to mitigate the financial impact on their household budgets, the Government of the Sarajevo Canton announced.
