Fuel prices in FBiH to drop by five to ten pfennigs per litre from tomorrow

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Fuel prices in FBiH will be lower by five to 10 pfennigs per litre from tomorrow, and by the end of the week prices will be reduced at all petrol stations in FBiH, said the Federal Minister of Trade Zlatan Vujanović after a session of the FBiH Government.

Minister Zlatan Vujanović said that so far more than 270 petrol stations have requested lower fuel prices, which is more than 40 percent of the total number, and that the deadline for processing requests is three days.

- The surge in barrel prices and the strengthening of the dollar came after the inauguration in Russia, and the announcement of a confrontation between Russia and the USA. We have maximally linked ourselves to the variable part that suggests the margin level and we asked them to maximally reduce their production costs. Consumers want economic reality to be respected, and that is that we are in a country with such purchasing power. The ambition and desire is for the FBiH Government to absolutely articulate everything that the public wants - said Vujanović.

The Minister said that the FBiH Ministry of Trade convened a meeting with petroleum product distributors and everything that led to the price increase was analysed.

The economic elements that prompted petroleum product retailers to make a decision on price increases, the justification of the price increase, and finding an economic model so that everything proceeds in accordance with free price formation and in a way that legal modules on price control are developed, which will be implemented in case the economic interests of consumers are not satisfied, were analysed.

Vujanović emphasised that they reacted promptly and that on Monday they had already received 100 requests, and by today 270 requests from petrol stations for fuel price reductions, out of a total of 680.
