The Italian company "Socksmaker 3" in Tešanj announced new investments to expand its capacity this year. The plan is to increase the current production of about 18,000 pairs of socks per day by 40%, said Fabio Nobis, director of "Socksmaker 3", reports the Patria News Agency.
As he told the portal eKapija.com, new investments in Tešanj will follow the reconstruction of the facility, which is currently underway.
- We are currently working on expanding and reconstructing the sock knitting hall. In the coming period, we plan investments in machinery, in general, as well as expanding production. This will create jobs for 50 workers - said Nobis.
The company previously announced its intention to invest one million euros in the Tešanj facility over the next two years. As stated after a meeting with FIPA, the goal is to produce 36,000 pairs of socks per day. The factory currently employs 100 skilled workers who produce about 6 million socks annually.
The socks produced in Tešanj are exported to Italy, i.e., to the parent company "Trere Innovation".
- We do not enter the domestic market. Everything produced in the Tešanj facility goes to Italy, from where it is delivered to clients across Europe and the world - says Nobis.
The director of "Socksmaker 3" recently met with the mayor of the municipality of Tešanj, where they discussed the possible construction of a new facility in the "Vila" business zone. Nobis says the facility would cost at most one million marks (about 500,000 EUR). - Our idea is to build a facility of about 2,800 to 3,000 m2 in that business zone.
Currently, I am not able to predict the realization percentage of this project, as it is a tender in which other companies will also participate. The Italian "Socksmaker 3" was founded in 2003 on the remains of a former sock factory. The founder of the company is Luigi Redini, the father of the current owner Marco Redini. At the beginning of its operations, "Socksmaker 3" had about 30 employees, and the production facility itself was rented.
After three years, the owners, due to the acquired trust in the project and production capacity, as well as the quality and productivity of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian staff, bought the existing facility in Tešanj. They started investing in the restructuring of the facility, state-of-the-art machinery and technology, as well as in staff training. According to our interlocutor, all this was done because of the company's motto "The sense of quality" ("Osjećaj kvaliteta").
