Ćidić on new US Secretary of State: Marco Rubio's positions align with BiH's interests!

(Patria) - Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections will bring changes to the country's foreign policy. In his pre-election appearances, he announced that he would very quickly stop major global hotspots like those in Ukraine and Gaza. According to him, these conflicts would not have even occurred if he had been at the head of the US when the conflicts began.

After his election victory, Trump has begun to slowly assemble the pieces regarding the administration that will lead US policy for the next four years. Among the interesting appointments, at least for BiH, is that of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who in his political activities participated in initiatives and resolutions concerning BiH.

Ismail Ćidić, president of the Bosnian Advocacy Center organization, commented on Rubio's appointment as Secretary of State for Hayat.ba.

- Throughout his career in the Senate, Marco Rubio has spoken countless times about Russian influence in key regions of the world and proposed laws and resolutions addressing this problem. For him, NATO is the main lever of security, primarily against threats that would come from Russia and its allies, as well as other American competitors on the world stage. These positions align with the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but it is necessary to insist on this message through all levels and on all possible occasions, especially since Marco Rubio is known for his clear and sharp stances – Ćidić told Hayat.ba.

Let us recall, Marco Rubio was a signatory to a letter to the current president Joe Biden, in which the signatories requested a focus on the Balkan region, also mentioning BiH. He is a fierce critic of Iran, North Korea, and Russia, which are also referred to as the "axis of evil" in his circles.
