FOUR LANES Construction of a section of the XII Transversal from Stupska Interchange to Sarajevo International Airport begins

(Patria) - JP Roads of the Federation of BiH signed contracts today for the execution of works and supervision on the construction of a section of the XII Transversal, on the sub-section from P61 (km 1+200) to P80 (km 1+580).

The construction of the XII Transversal, on the stretch from Stupska Interchange to Sarajevo International Airport, is one of the key infrastructure projects in the Canton of Sarajevo that will significantly improve traffic flow and connectivity between the western part of the city and the airport complex. The project is being realized in cooperation with the municipalities of Novi Grad, Novo Sarajevo, and Ilidža, as the Transversal route passes through the borders of these municipalities.

After the Municipality of Novi Grad issued urban planning consent for the section of the route from P61 to P80 on December 27, 2023, the expropriation procedure was initiated, which was successfully completed. This fulfilled the conditions for issuing a building permit and commencing the implementation of this part of the project.

The value of the contracted works amounts to 6,418,831.43 KM, and the contractor is a consortium of companies Euro-Asfalt d.o.o. and Demus d.o.o. Sarajevo. Supervision of the works will be carried out by RADIS d.o.o. Istočno Sarajevo, MIDES d.o.o. Banja Luka, and PROJECT BIRO UTIBER d.o.o. Novi Sad. The value of the contract for supervision is 69,733.56 KM. The deadline for completion of the works is nine months from the start of execution.

The signing was attended by acting director of JP Roads FBiH Ljubo Pravdić, acting executive director for economic and legal affairs of JP Roads FBiH Luka Raguž, president of the Supervisory Board of JP Roads FBiH Nermin Bojčić, Minister of Transport of Canton Sarajevo Adnan Šteta, Mayor of Municipality Novi Grad Semir Efendić, Mayor of Municipality Ilidža Nermin Muzur, and representatives of the contractor, supervision, and investor.

The works include the construction of a four-lane road 380 meters long with pedestrian paths on both sides and a median strip, a two-lane roundabout, service roads towards the "Bingo" facility (l=380 m) and Aleja Bosne Srebrene (l=140 m), a bridge over the Dobrinja River with riverbed regulation in the bridge zone, and the relocation of installations.

Urban planning consents have been obtained for the remaining sections of the XII Transversal in the area of the Municipality of Ilidža. The expropriation procedure is underway, after which a building permit will be obtained and works will continue during the next year.
