Four people die, 779 new coronavirus cases in Sarajevo Canton

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Results of PCR and antigen tests in the past 24 hours confirmed 779 new cases of coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton.

As stated by the Institute for Public Health of Sarajevo Canton, in the same period, 983 people recovered from Covid-19 infection.

Four patients, unfortunately, died from the consequences of this disease.

Currently, 169 patients are undergoing hospital treatment, of which 166 have an acute infection.

The share of unvaccinated persons in the number of hospitalized is 60.95 percent.

At the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, 105 patients are being treated, and at the General Hospital “Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš” 64. Six people are on respirators, 10 are using non-invasive ventilation, while eight patients are on oxygen support for breathing.

Sarajevo Canton today records 6,927 active cases of Covid-19 infection. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Sarajevo Canton, a total of 86,378 people infected with coronavirus and 77,723 recovered have been recorded.

“The weekly incidence, i.e., the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 911,” according to the Institute for Public Health of Sarajevo Canton.

In the Covid clinics of the Public Institution Health Center of Sarajevo Canton, 639 patients were examined, of which five were transported for hospital treatment. At drive-in points and in Covid clinics, 653 swabs were taken. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Semizovac and Novi Grad work every day from 07:30 to 20:00 hours.

The Covid call center recorded 1,332 calls, and 452 conversations with patients were conducted via telephone numbers in Covid clinics.
