Four months waiting for ViK to fix a valve: In Humska, water rationing in apartments, while water flows down the street

Residents of Sarajevo struggle with water rationing throughout the entire year, even though water gushes from burst pipes in hundreds of places across the city and spills onto the streets.

One of the residents of Humska Street in the Pofalići neighborhood told the Bosnian news agency Patria that for four months now, water has been leaking from a valve located next to his house, spilling down the street, but ViK has never come to fix the problem, even though he regularly called them.

- The valve through which water flows onto the street costs only a few marks, and every day, water worth much more is wasted through that valve. Not only that, while water flows down our street, we don't have it in our houses – says this Sarajevo resident. He added that he will file a lawsuit against the city because water is entering his yard and causing dampness in the basement of the house, reports Patria.
