Congratulations on the New Success of the Students of the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Four students from the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, who recently won first place in the regional human rights moot court competition, also won today at the grand trans-European final held in the courtrooms of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.

The members of the University of Sarajevo Faculty of Law team were Emina Kukuljac, Lamija Dedagić, Anesa Karaman, and Delila Islamović, and they were prepared for the competition by Faculty of Law teaching assistant Harun Išerić. This competition consists of a simulated procedure before the European Court of Human Rights and is one of the most prestigious competitions for law faculties in this field in Europe.

The Sarajevo Canton Government earlier made a decision to support the young talented students, and Prime Minister Edin Forto, Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth Aleksandra Nikolić, and Minister of Justice and Administration Darja Softić Kadenić sent congratulations to the winning team today. Prime Minister Forto expressed satisfaction that the Sarajevo Canton Government decided to support the successful students.

“The Sarajevo Canton Government will always stand by young, talented people who promote Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world with their knowledge. Congratulations on the success,” stated Prime Minister Forto.

Minister Nikolić said that, in line with the clear commitment of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth to support and promote excellence at every opportunity, she wishes to congratulate the champions, the team from the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, which achieved victory in fierce competition against teams from prestigious universities from the region and Europe.

“This victory represents an expression of the motivation and enormous dedication of the young students, but also reflects the quality of education at the University of Sarajevo. Of course, the contribution of the young colleague Harun Išerić, a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law, who guided and led the preparations of this winning team, and who went through all the steps with them on the path to this historic victory, should also be highlighted. The Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth is happy to have had the opportunity to financially support this team, which once again showed why it is so important to create conditions for young people to show what they can do, know, and are capable of. Building an environment that will encourage the independence, self-awareness, creativity, and entrepreneurship of young people is precisely the long-term mission of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton. Once again, we extend our congratulations to the 'champions' in the field of human rights,” stated Minister Nikolić.

Minister Softić Kadenić stated that she is proud of the immense and historic success of this team, which won this prestigious competition in the field of human rights first at the regional level, and now at the European level.

“I am glad that the Sarajevo Canton Government recognized the importance, supported this team, and thus contributed to this fantastic result. As a professor at the Faculty of Law, this news particularly delighted me, because it concerns my former students and their trainer, the young colleague Harun Išerić, who is a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Law. I congratulate them from the heart,” stated Minister Softić Kadenić.

A congratulation was also sent by the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the students of the team from the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo. The Prime Minister sent the congratulation to the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Zinka Grbo.

The team from the Faculty of Law, University of Sarajevo, was also the winner of the earlier regional human rights moot court competition.
