Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister Pivić and Assembly Speaker Huskić on the Occasion of ZDK Day

(Patria) - Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton Nezir Pivić and Assembly Speaker Ćazim Huskić sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of August 29 - Zenica-Doboj Canton Day, which states:

"Dear citizens, Kulin Ban issued a charter to the Prince of Dubrovnik on August 29, 1189, guaranteeing him freedom of trade in Bosnia, and this is the oldest preserved written document and confirmation of Bosnian statehood. That is why we have celebrated August 29 as Canton Day since 2013.

The charter confirms that Bosnia was already a developed state with clearly established institutions in the 12th century. Today, more than nine centuries later, institutions are precisely the foundation of stability, development, and progress, because in a modern democratic society they represent a guarantee of equality, fairness, and the rule of law.

Our responsibility, as representatives of the government, is to preserve and strengthen these institutions, and to work in the interest of all citizens, without exception. It is precisely this approach that leads us to the implementation of development policies and projects we are carrying out throughout Zenica-Doboj Canton, with the aim of creating better conditions for work, education, healthcare, and everyday life.

Dear citizens, on behalf of the Government and Assembly of Zenica-Doboj Canton, we congratulate you on Canton Day, with the wish that you celebrate it proudly and with dignity. May this date remind us of our rich history, but also motivate us to jointly build stronger institutions, a stronger economy, and a society of equal opportunities for all.
