Czech President Milos Zeman, known for his anti-immigration statements, said that the integration of the Muslim community into Western Europe is nearly impossible. He also blamed Muslim culture in Europe for the sexual assaults in Cologne, writes Daily Mail, as reported by the Patrija news agency.
Zeman is known for his harsh comments about "refugees with iPhones" who "exploit their children to obtain asylum in the European Union".
"The experience of Western European countries that have ghettos and separate local communities shows that the integration of Muslims is nearly impossible. Let them keep their culture in their own countries, instead of bringing it to Europe, otherwise it will become like Cologne," he added, referring to the mass sexual abuse that took place during New Year's Eve in the German city of Cologne.
"Integration is possible with cultures that are similar, and those similarities can vary," he said, noting that Vietnamese and Ukrainian communities have successfully integrated into Czech society.
Zeman is known for his harsh comments about refugees and migrants.
"Children serve as a human shield for guys with iPhones and to justify the wave of migrants. Those who hide behind children, in my opinion, deserve no sympathy. They take their children in rubber boats, knowing they could drown," Zeman said.
Last year, Zeman called the refugee wave an "organized invasion," as reported by Index.
