Cero: Villa Braun is state property, not property of the Federal Government and Čavara

The issue of the use of Villa Braun in Sarajevo, which was once rented by the US Embassy in our country based on a contract signed with the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, writes the news agency Patria.

-The Government of the Federation of BiH cannot give anyone, not even the President of the FBiH, something that is not its own for use. The title holder of the property, i.e., Villa Braun, is the state of BiH, says Muharem Cero, an expert on state property issues, for Patria.

Cero recalls that the contract with the US Embassy for the use of Villa Braun was signed by the then Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of BiH, Hasan Muratović, and that based on the ruling of the Constitutional Court of BiH, the state of BiH was declared the title holder of this property.

The President of the Federation of BiH, Marinko Čavara, decided to move only the Office of the President of the FBiH, without the Vice Presidents, into Villa Braun, which was used by the US Embassy until the end of 2010.

Under the false pretext of trying to save budget funds, the Government of the FBiH approved 100,000 KM from the budget reserve for Čavara for the renovation and furnishing of Villa Braun.
