Cero: Council of Ministers has no institutional response on how to protect BiH's property in neighboring countries

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Council of Ministers session also included Information on activities related to the protection of property and rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Croatia, proposed by the Negotiating Team for the Implementation of the Agreement on Succession Issues.

The material submitted to the ministers, Patria learns, did not contain sufficient data nor any valuable information, so certain conclusions were again adopted.

The Council of Ministers discussed the current issues and activities related to the protection of property and rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Republic of Croatia.

- The Deputy Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, head of the Joint Commission for Succession Issues of the former SFRY, and the Minister of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina, member of the Joint Commission for Succession Issues of the former SFRY, are tasked with preparing, on behalf of the negotiating team for the next session of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a complete information on the status, proposals and problems related to the Agreement on Succession and Annex G of the Agreement on Succession Issues – concluded the Council of Ministers.

State property expert Muharem Cero told the Patria agency that today's session of the Council of Ministers buried, as he says, any hope that BiH will succeed in stopping the application of the "controversial provision of the Law on State Property Management in Croatia."

"It is certain that if such a law enters into force, Bosnia and Herzegovina has no prepared institutional response," says Cero, adding that today's session of the Council of Ministers also confirmed that BiH does not even have an institutional framework ready to monitor the implementation of the Succession Agreement even if it were to happen. Cero recalls that BiH has so far managed to conclude a bilateral agreement of this kind only with Macedonia, but that such agreements have not been made with Serbia and Croatia, where BiH has property measured in enormous values.

Cero also believes that the statements of the Minister of Justice of BiH, Josip Grubeša, on the issue of state property of BiH in neighboring countries indicate the minister's incompetence in this matter.
