Cerić wants BiH Presidency members to not be party officials

Independent candidate for the BiH Presidency Dr. Mustafa Cerić will officially launch an initiative for the depoliticization of the state Presidency, according to an announcement from his election headquarters today, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Namely, Dr. Cerić has announced a press conference for tomorrow at 11 AM in Sarajevo, with the intention of speaking on the topic of "depoliticization of the BiH Presidency".

It was not possible to obtain more details about this initiative before the press conference, but as we unofficially learn, Cerić intends to launch a reform in which members of the state leadership would not be able to be party cadres at the same time.

He has spoken publicly before that some current members of the BiH Presidency spend too much time working for their party and too little working for the benefit of all citizens. Therefore, Dr. Cerić, likely guided by this idea, has launched an initiative to separate parties and politics from work in the highest state institution where directly elected candidates should represent the people, not parties, reports NAP.
